Getting to Rosarito
Driving to Rosarito - Rosarito is located a short 18 miles form the San Ysidro International Border. Take the 5 or 805 freeway south to the U.S. - Mexico border (San Ysidro crossing). Both freeways end at the border so take your pick. After crossing the border, stay in the second lane from the right. Follow the signs that say "Rosarito Beach, Ensenada Scenic Route". Taxis in Rosarito - If you are going to Rosarito one thing you will never have to worry about is finding a taxi. On the Mexican side of the border, the taxis are lined up by the dozens, just in from the border, after passing through the pedestrian walkway gates. The most important aspect is to negotiate your price before getting in the cab, because there are no meters. Standard fares to get to Rosarito is around $25 to $35. While in Rosarito you can find taxis easily near town or your hotel can call a taxi for you.
San Diego Trolley to Rosarito - The San Diego Trolley offers round trip service from most areas in San Diego county to the international border in San Ysidro. The cost is very inexpensive, and once you are off of the Trolley, it's just a 5 minute walk to Tijuana, where you can catch a cab or bus to Rosarito. The buses are located right as you get off the trolley, look for the Greyhound station or Mexicoach red buses.
Bus to Rosarito - Buses are available on both sides of the Tijuana border. On the U.S. side, the Greyhound Bus Terminal and Mexicoach are located on the east side of Interstate 5, about 100 feet from the Mexican border. There are several different bus companies lined up in front of the parking lots on the U.S. side of the border. These buses offer departure and pickup to Rosarito several times per day.

Time Zone - Rosarito Mexico lies in the Pacific standard Time Zone or PST. The clock time in this zone is based on the mean solar time of the 105th degree meridian west of the Greenwich Observatory. Pacific Standard Time (PST) is 8 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT-8). Rosarito is in the same time zone as San Diego and Las Angeles. Pacific Time Zone is one hour behind the Mountain Time Zone and three hours behind the Eastern Time Zone. Baja California Norte observing PDT = Pacific Daylight Time in summer and PST = Pacific Standard (Tiempo del Pacifico) in winter.

Its proximity to the United States makes it a very popular tourist destination, especially for day-trippers from San Diego. Visitors can expect an ideal climate for most of the year, with average temperatures during the daytime ranging from 68ºF in January, to 86º in August. The rainy season is short (and tame, with yearly averages close to only 10 inches of rainfall), and encompasses late Winter to early Spring.
